Site: canal bed, Navigli district, Milan, drained for the first time in a century; mud sieved on site. Found clipped to a carabiner holding several car keys, fobs dissolved. Partial emblem on one blade suggests luxury-class vehicles; attribution unresolved. Condition: orange streaks on the robe from key rust, dark green ground from rain and silt.

Small in scale and without apparent function, the Bad Charm held nothing, opened nothing, protected nothing. Records suggest it was sold sealed, its face unknown until the box was opened. Stock appears to have been scarce, with queues forming before the doors, and the rarest versions changed hands at many times their price. Once unsealed, it was typically clipped to a bag of notable value, where the two objects could be seen together. Analysis notes only that the practice was widespread, and that it ended within a season.

Presentation
Delivered in its capsule: a glass dome on an engraved concrete base.
Figure height: 13 cm (5.1 in)
Overall height with capsule: 25 cm (9.8 in)
Material (figure): Copper and PLA composite
Finish: Sanded, chemically aged copper patina
Material (capsule): Concrete base, glass dome
Edition: Unique piece
Accession no.: E-SP-BC-006 · Milan, Italy

Certificate & provenance
Each artifact is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Care
Handle with clean, dry gloves.
